The Importance of Setting a Budget

Sit down with your groom and family and come up with a number to work from.  This budget doesn't need to be something that will make you live on Ramen.  It needs to be a realistic number that you can come up with 30 days or more prior to the big day.  Once you have a total budget in which to work from, you need to come up with a list of absolute MUST-HAVES for your wedding.  If you have always dreamed of a live string quartet, include it. If you have your heart set on real flowers, include them. Once you have those listed, you can start dividing out how much of your budget you are willing to devote to each item on your list.  For example, if you are set on real flowers, find a way to work them into the decor at the reception to save money.  For help compiling your budget, contact us at podsnpeas@gmail.com

Elegant Weddings on a Small Budget

I got started in wedding planning because I had to plan my own wedding ceremony and reception on a non-existent budget.  My fiance' and I were both teachers, so we didn't have the budget that many couples do.  Also, we were both past the age where you expect parents to pitch in.  We were left to our own devices to plan the wedding of our dreams.
Not only were we on a budget, we also only had 5 weeks to plan our wedding.  I called hotels, restaurants, public parks.  We get the run around from almost everyone.  There were booking fees, room fees, meal minimums...it was insane.  We just wanted a wedding with 40 people!!!  One night I was awake into the wee hours of the morning and came across a venue that was too good to be true; it had a ceremony and reception site; you were allowed to bring your own catering in and there was NO coordinator that had to be used.  I suddenly found myself in a new job, wedding coordinator.
I have worked on several weddings and on multiple special occasion celebrations.  Please email me so that I can help you coordinate the wedding of your dreams.

Regards,
Stephanie
